Preparing for Pandemic Influenza - Guidance to Local Planners

12 December 2007

The Cabinet Office has issued this guidance as part of our role in providing leadership and guidance to the resilience community and in supporting the Department of Health, as Lead Department, in preparing and planning for a possible influenza pandemic. This guidance replaces the Cabinet Office document 'Contingency planning for a possible influenza pandemic (version 2 10 July 2006)'.

The primary aim of this document is to support 'A national framework for responding to an influenza pandemic' published by the Department for Health in November 2007, to provide local and regional planners with additional guidance and information to support the development of local level, multi-agency plans. This document offers guidance on the required content of local and regional pandemic plans in the form of a checklist.
